presents International Romani Day

All over the world, 8th April is celebrated as Romano Dives, the International Romani Day. The anniversary was established to commemorate the first world congress of the Roma people, held in London in 1971, during which the name ‘Rom’, ‘Man’, was chosen to indicate the Romani nation, which includes the Manouches, Kalderash, Lovara, Romanìchéls, Vlax, Domari, Nawar, Làutari people and many others. On that same day, the Romani Union was founded, the first worldwide Roma association, later recognised by the UN in 1979.

On the occasion of this anniversary, on the 9th of April from 11am, HERO Housing and Employment of ROma people promotes a morning of discussion and approach to Roma culture, in Turin at Bagni Pubblici in Via Agliè. At the end of the introductory round table, Rasid Nikolic, The Gipsy Marionettist, will present a puppet show in which the family relationships between the characters become the fil rouge of a symbolic journey from Yugoslavia at war to Italy.[/card][card etichetta= »it » lingua= »Italiano »]HERO Housing and Employment of ROma people
